An article in Chatelaine, November 1996, and more recently in Readers Digest describes how a family chose Hilltop Manor as a home for their grandmother. When making this important decision, the family took into consideration “the friendly staff, homey atmosphere”, nursing care, meals and activities.

 In September 1998, the village of Merrickville was chosen as “Canada’s Most Beautiful Village” in the National Communities in Bloom Competition in its population category.
